The Boxcraft Philosophy

Science and nature are key components of the Boxcraft philosophy. In owner Candice Urban-Green’s vision, every element of a room, from the utilitarian to the decorative, is interconnected. Buildings have a beat, and their spaces have a rhythm; in articulating the beauty in these details, Boxcraft breathes life into clients’ spaces from the inside out. The beauty of Boxcraft’s design is that it comes from within, naturally and effortlessly.

This approach not only explains the Boxcraft design process but also its professional methodology. Sticklers for details and efficiency, Boxcraft works closely with contractors, owners, craftsmen, suppliers and clients to ensure logical, timely and cost-effective results. Boxcraft can accommodate projects of every size and scope, and from every managerial level. The studio often partners with designers and architects who share in the Boxcraft vision, and who can add valuable assets.

With passion, tenacity and hunger, Boxcraft helps its clients live, play and work at their greatest potential—just outside the box.

Candice Urban-Green’s approach to design draws inspiration from every corner of her life—as lead interior designer and project manager at BAM Architecture Studio in New York City, where she managed projects at NBC Universal, NYU Medical Center and Hitachi; as featured designer on HGTV’s “House Hunters Renovation,” filmed in her hometown of Buffalo, NY; as an expert in corporate retail management and merchandising for brands like Anthropologie, PacSun and Homeplace; as an NCIDQ-certified interior design firm; as a lifelong devotee of art and architecture; as an active mother and wife; and, once upon a time, as an academic scientist.

Candice often says she took a different path to her career than most designers, studying and working in the field out of traditional order. But it’s a path Candice has been charting since she can remember, and one that she has forged in exactly her own way. Like her own life, Candice’s work is innovative and intelligent, beautiful and natural, logical and harmonious.
